So, this is going on in my town.
I know both people. It all got started over burning of leaves by the guy on the other side of the sign.
He refused to quit burning leaves. And the guy that put the sign up says he has breathing difficulty.
The guy who put the sign up his grandfather built the house, that leaf
burner owns.
Well, now he goes and gets a professional sign and sticks it up there last time I looked it even has to flood lights on it for night time viewing.
I really would bet you the problem goes back years before just some petty issue, i have no idea. I actually surveyed this boundary some years ago. Property line is several feet to the west of the wood fence toward leaf burners place.
This whole week has been a learning experience for me I'm posting this with my android new deal for me.
And I can talk to this Android.

No question about what non-leaf burner thinks of leaf burner. As I don't know either one I can safely say that there must be something much more important than leaf burning involved in this situation. Nevertheless, the average citizen wandering past this sign probably labels the one who put up the sign as being the true A-hole.
When he takes it down, tell him I want to buy it, if he can get the name fixed so that it can be changed from time to time. I can think of a few places for such a sign. The only problem is that it might lead to retaliation in kind and I might have a dozen or so such signs show up close to my mailbox.

So your saying the guy who put the sign up is the true a$$hole....and you want to buy the sign to use it when he's done??? Hmmm....
Is it called that?
I thought I'd never learn these kind of devices.
I got a LG Vista.
Ok, I made up some narrative for this.
The following is fiction:
Ring ring
I need a survey real bad. I need it fast, and I can't pay over 300 dollars.
It may go to court.
I just need one line run, it's about 300 feet long. Please see the attached pix of the line. Let me know if you can have this done by Friday. I think 1 dollar a foot, is a reasonable price. Its actually more than I wanted to pay, but I know you surveyors need your pound of flesh.
Actually, there are two pics here. One is older.
Why haven't I heard from you?
You ask anybody. My money is good money. I pay all my bills.
I need to know if you are going to do this job. If you can't do it, I need to call another surveyor.
Rich.
Very perceptive. I assumed someone among all the smart people here would have to say something about me desiring to be the neighborhood A-hole.
Some might say I have already acquired said appellation. I take it in stride as one of the standard curses that go along with being handsome, rich, successful, talented, generous and humble. (One out of six isn't too bad, is it? I am generous.)
Nate, my old party chief is from your town too. I heard a lot of stories of the goings on down in your neck of the woods. Funny stuff, unless you are David Hughes, I guess. Lol

Tapatalk is an app for forum browsing/posting. Surveyor connect is on there. It's easier and more user friendly on a phone than going through the browser. And easier to just add pics to the post.

HC, you left out "and extremely modest". 😉

"It's hard to be humble when you are perfect in every way." (Mac Davis, I think)
I think the reason the a-hole sign thing grab my attention is because some people are actually thinking those thoughts but that was actually posted it in his front yard!
He did what others wanted to do but did not have the gumption to do.
Nate,
Here are some field notes from your neck of the woods...I've entitled this snippet of history "I want to be a Surveyor".
Stay warm...
DDSM:beer:
"...snow half a leg deep.."
Either someone's exaggerating or the Arkansas winter of 1838 was much worse than usual. (or else he's very short)
All my assistants became dissatisfied with the difficulties they were encountering...
2mile 11chain. Provisions None!!
I think I'd be "dissatisfied" with Mr J. E. Graham's planning!! (That dang short legged SOB)
DDSM:beer:
Well Dan I was finally able to view that PDF. That was awesome. In that same hilly country. I fell off a mountain carrying the instrument, broke one of the legs, use the axe, improvised another leg, and finished our survey. The ground gave way underneath me, while climbing a very steep portion of that same mountain range I know about it. I must have been about 18 years old. That USGS that you posted. Brought to mind.
Our clients name was Bill Mizel. And it was near Kate's Creek we waded Kate's Creek to do the survey.

That constitutes a Lis Pendins, I think.
Well, the sign on the leaf burner's property, up there in the right side of the pic has the word "MINISTRIES" on it, so I 'm thinking the sign owner is being loved by his neighbor and not too worried of any retaliation.
Probably a bit scared in a thunderstorm though....
You are correct. Mr leaf burner takes folks in, and genuinely tries to get people back on their feet.
