Reminds me of something that happened around here.
One guy was mad at the city about the contamination of the water in the long Island Sound. So he created a character, Mr floatie. He got a car for the turd and hired someone to dress in the costume and go to all the board meetings and sit in the background so he can be seen all the time on the local TV broadcast.
Later on the board approved a drainage plan on some guys property and after the improvements, an adjoiners pond went dry. This guy then went so irate calling all the cities board members jackasses. So to iterate this he hired a guy to dress as a donkey and sit next to the turd at every meeting.
This went on for a long time. Both of the guys kept hiring people to dress up every meeting. It was quite amusing actually, tuning in to see if the donkey or turd would show up. Until the city made a new rule that nobody with a mask would be allowed into the meeting rooms.
Wish I could find a better picture of the donkey. Or both of them sitting in the room in the background.
