You can configure anything you need to configure on the R10 using the WebUI. Much better than using GPS Configurator.

That WEBUI is slick. The Triimble DL only works for android and not my antique iphone, pretty much useless for me. Found GPS Configurator is no longer being supported. Got to get with the times I guess.
Just because I'm paranoid, doesn't mean they aren't out to get me.
That Trimble DL app works well. One of the reasons my next phone will be Android.
The R8-2's are awesome. We have had two rovers running 10-12 hours a day every day for the last 3 weeks straight. I have owned them about 2.5 years and they have not let me down nor is there any feature I wish they had that they don't. If one of mine broke I would try to have it fixed or just buy another one on eBay or whatever. If I was going to buy an additional unit it would be another R8-2.
For those DIY'ers you could always try Swift Navigation prototyping platform. They now have L1/L2 w/ RTK and at least 3 of the constellations available. Though I think only GPS is currently operational.
I've been watching this little company that started as a Kickstarter campaign a few years back. Slowly they are getting some interesting hardware together. Cost is quite in-expensive for a base / rover combo ($2k).
Acquisition times and data transfer I haven't seen enough to convince me yet.
