Hey Guys,
Lets compile all our photos of our smashed instruments.
I've got a couple I'll add in a few days time. If you got them on you please do Share!!:-P
Insert the photo with what a line of what did the damage !
Looking at a smashed SURVEY instrument makes me think of the time long ago that I smashed my "Instrument" once while riding a bike. I did not take pics of it. It never occurred to me. I was in so much pain!
I was raised up to believe that I was Expendable, but that the SURVEY instrument was not. Parked beside the road, jumped out of the way of an errant car, BUT the SURVEY instrument was with me, that is, I did not jump without taking it with me!
Good Luck. I am afraid many of us are like that.

Happened once to me 2years ago, but I made no picture either!
Not the first thing you think of when you're baby is on the floor.
I do have a pic from the setup before someone kicked it.

I got this from this website. Looks like Europe, but I have no idea what the story is.
This was posted here about a year ago. Was it by JB? Not Sure. A tree had center punched it.
They acutually make me cringe :excruciating:
So far thats 1 dead Topcon and 1 flat 1200.
"king of the road" on the back of the truck, haha, he sure was here!

Long ago I saw the results of what happens when an HP3810A hits a concrete floor. Not pretty... lots of orange plastic; small pieces. Unfortunately, no pictures. That was WAY before digital cameras.

A early news article about a court case from 1904. Where a guy hit the theodolite in his car/cart and drove/rode on.
I'm not entirely sure, but I think a close-up of the instrument in your first picture is someone's avatar image here...
The smashed instruments are in the back of the truck. All kind'a smooshed together. :-O

Yup, that was me.
I keep a set of the mangled internal gears on my desk to remind me to keep my head on a swivel...it was truly an impressive impact
Were you able to get the truck owner to pay for the gun, or were you forced to use your own insurance? I've always wondered how that would work on a construction site, where equipment is exposed to so many hazards.
Ohh no!
