Time to set up another gps rover.

Seco has always been what we get, but wondering how other brands compare. Sokkia? Sitepro?

We generally get a year or two until the bipod legs get sticky, and don't drop by themselves. Any other brands compare or beat seco as far as performance?

Getting a carbon pole too, but unless anyone else makes a 8 ft knob locking rod with lock holes and graduations in both feet and meters, we are going with seco.

I've never used site pro but I have tried others including Sokkia.
Seco is superior.

They're cheaper, but everything seems to be put together the same way. Maybe they use cheaper materials or manufacture in a cheaper country or something....

Seco is superior!?!? Yikes. I have been looking myself and had higher hopes for Sokkia...

I've always used the Seco metal ones and been less than impressed, especially over the long term. Useless after a couple years, even with periodic maintenance.

That being said, I recently had a chance to use Seco carbon fiber bipods, and I was extremely satisfied.

Do you clean and adjust, or toss them the first time they don't work correctly? A year lifespan seems a little short given spare parts are available.

I respectfully disagree. I've used Seco and Sokkia. My experience is just the opposite. My Seco was cheap and poorly made. It did not hold up well. My Sokkia is much doing much better.

I hate to create confusion; but, that's my experience.

Keep in mind that often the only difference in products in the color they are painted. I have SECO and SOKKIA bipods in our fleet. They are identical.

Uhhh...the "DW" in their target logo is the give away.

We've been using a few Sitepro 2m fixed carbon fiber rods for about a year without issue. Looks like Sitepro makes a yellow "economy" bipod as well as a carbon fiber bipod. Amazon lists the carbon fiber bipod at 1 pound. Compared to the typical 4# aluminum, it may be worth a try.

My Sokkia is not the same as the Seco.
Everything is slightly smaller diameter.
They may have changed, I've had them quite a while.

The best pole pods I've seen are those made by SI Precision

They are a manufacturing company and make tools stamped under many names.

I used the link above and ordered two of the SI bipods.

I received two Sokkia branded bipods. I have been told by Benchmark that they are made by SI and there is no error with my order...

Just a heads up to anyone shopping for bipods...
