So the NSPS National Surveyors Week Kit lists GPS day as March 25...

But NSPS also lists National Surveyors week being March 15-21 HERE near the bottom of the page.

What gives?

It is my understanding that GPS day is March 21. I have plans to observe on a couple of 1st Order benchmarks in a park that day along with a picnic to submitt to OPUS DB. Any observations that week that are submitted to OPUS DB will count towards the toatal for National Surveyors Week.

There were 119 different marks observed on last month. I think that a good goal for National Surveyors Week would be 120 marks. If you have a project that you will be using GPS on that week, submitt your data to OPUS DB. It can be an observation on an existing Benchmark or a new mark. They would really like to get observations on Benchmarks but new marks are accepted. You need 4+ hours of good clean L1 L2 data suitable for OPUS, 2 pictures and a description. If it is a new mark do try to make it something perminent and stable.

I suspect that if the Surveyors on Beer Leg with GPS each submitted 1 observation it would be very close to that 120 observations suggestion. My office will be doing 7 observations on 2 Benchmarks minimum that week. Unless the weather gets us we will be doing at least 7 more points.:-)
