:good:
YOu said it much more succinctly than I. Just tell them the corner monuments are no extra charge. 😉

Good morning Mr. Surveyor:
I want to buy a property. I am already familiar with it and have made an offer with several contingencies, one of which is the results of a ALTA Survey.
I have no interest in any additional monuments set on the ground because I either:
1. use the property without additional improvements
2. will make improvements and will consider the need for monuments in my design plans
If I wish to have monuments set at a later time I will do so.
Cost of the survey is a very minor issue but I do not wish to waste money.
Item 1 isn't an option for my Clients... FL, GA, AL & MS all require monumentation found or set.
I can explain it to you, but I can't understand it for you...
I've never understood this
> Hard to believe. Fee works out to .15% of the purchase price. See if you can get the realtor to take that kind of commission.
I Know, Right?
😉
Setting corners just goes with property boundary surveying.
Dr. Jeckyl and others are right, with a lot of ALTAs, they don't care about having them set, but we should be in more control of our own professional destiny than to allow them to dictate that. That also goes for the states mentioned that allow for corners to not be set. WE shouldn't allow it. It is just too fundamental to our purpose for being.
I like Party Chef's (IF that is your real name, sir!) suggestion as a humorous way to work out this situation.
