Based on the above writing, I don't see how one can conclude that his talk with others would provide bid information of his boss, or even talk about money for that matter. Talking about something can be done in a very general and harmless way.

OK this is not a beef about the price he quoted. I NEVER discuss current prices or wages with other companys. My only reason for mentioning this and maybe I should not have is my fear that I will be tasked to pick up the pieces and end up with haveing to hear "Why could you not make budget?"

My problem is that as "A Harris" said: most everyone of them were a member of the "in their opinion they were never wrong" group. The Boss/Owner has determined a procedure to be used that I believe to be FAULTY!

Document, bring to his attention, discuss, document.

Do as he asked and get the extra money that those problems will bring. You are paid by the hour, so take the OT money.
