Just couldn't help myself. 🙂
Had to show off my new hat made from my hound's fur. In the spring I brushed out my two Tibetan Mastiffs and 13 year old Golden's winter coat and found a lady to spin it into yarn for me. Traded another lady some of my bee's honey to knit me a new doggie hat. Don't ask me what it smells like when it gets wet because I don't want to know. I will tell you that it's almost too warm and even at 20 degrees I start breaking a sweat with only a bit of exertion. My Golden will be 14 next June and she won't be with me forever so I wanted something to remind me of her after she's gone.

Are fleas standard equipment or an option? 😉
Has it seen a squirrel yet ??:-D
No fleas here, or ticks or heart worm. Think I might have seen one tick here in 20 years.
SWMBO, the knitter, wants to know if it's 100% dog fur?
I have a Spanish water that grows corded hair and I have been bugging her for years to make a pair of "fingerless" gloves out of his hair. SWMBO spins yarn from fiber that her farmer friends give her, alpaca, llama, sheep, rabbit, but I haven't' gotten her to include dog in that mix, yet.
Good question. Apparently just by itself dog fur yarn will sag. The spinner lady mixed in a little sheep's wool to prevent that from happening. The TM fur has very long super soft fibers and the finished product feels a lot like angora. Very soft and light and insanely warm. I really don't know how they don't over heat.
Don,
I can give you guys all the golden retriever hair you could want.
Very soft dog. A bit dim witted, but soft.
