I was searching the net for some source of information on different styles of survey instrument reticles, I know I've used different instruments with different styles, and if you were to look below, Half Bubble is selling his old Wild instrument with a scope-view-photo showing the double vertical line in the vintage instrument.
I noticed that no matter which search terms you use, you end up in one of two category of results. You either get microscope reticle sites, or the giant world of scopes for weapons. There doesn't seem to be any database or link for survey instrument reticles, even by manufacture. Maybe i'm using the wrong search terms here.

You might try spelling it right: reticule

I'm hardly one to get picky over spelling, but I don't believe I've ever seen it spelled "reticule". I will say most of my reference is all pretty much pre WWII. 'Reticule' is however listed as a variant spelling as noted below.
