Had the opportunity to prepare a topographic survey on a portion of a tract of land in southeast Georgia that I completed a boundary survey on two years ago. Amazing what two years of dry weather does to a tract of land. The "wet area" as noted in 2010 covered about 5 acres.

Very typical conditions, so how long to topo 30 acres of this at a 1' contour interval?

According to FEMA, the site is not in a flood plain, not even close.

I hope they're already working on a 404 permit. That sure looks like upland wetlands to me.

Nice pics Dan, Always good to get the swamp work. Hot, humid and in a lot of ways pretty. Hopefully this was when the weather started to cool off a bit. Doesn't surprise me about the FEMA thing either. Did an elevation certificate this past summer for a Veteran that owned a house FEMA said was in the flood zone. Well they weren't too far off, only about 27' vertical feet. Guess that fancy new Lidar isn't as good as they would like to think.
