I own a spectra Precision Ranger 3 (Trimble like) for less than two years. Last Wednesday it was raining and it failed to start. I took off battery and placed it back. It started and got frozen at certain loading point. I took off battery and tried again. It entered into boot loader and started up with a clean naked windows, no survey pro, no other apps. I would like to know if there is a way to fix the boot section and bring back survey pro as I have a lot of data and settings in the data collector. Thank you for answers.

The dealer suggested to replace the main board for $2,000. I am thinking the system and data should still be there just like a computer canƒ??t boot to windows. But it may need special tools and knowledge to fix it.

We have had one for a little less than a year.?ÿ I'm not impressed.?ÿ It works great but its buggy.?ÿ It might go three weeks and work fine but then in a days time lock up and require a hard reset three or four times in a day.?ÿ?ÿ Sometimes it just won't turn on either, this requires a reboot. ?ÿThis is the second one also, the first one was even worse and they finally gave up and sent us a new one.?ÿ

If it will turn on I'd think it would link up to a PC and you could get any data you need out of it.
