I need to know what the standard radius would be of a railroad spur off an existing staight tangent of rail, with a design speed of 10 mph!
any help appreciated

I don't know, but a number 10 turnout is the minimum preferred size for slow speed sidings. 9 can save a little space and still accommodate longer cars. 8 is the minimum allowed but not useful for the longer cars.
