I have an idea I've been kicking around putting on kickstarter, but have sat on it too long.?ÿ Thought I'd see what others thought on here, and if the idea gets stolen, oh well, - at least I could buy one for myself 🙂

I once saw a solo surveyor using one of the electric power assist golf carts to pack stakes, paint, flagging, etc while he staked curb and gutter.?ÿ Got me thinking if that idea could be expanded into a purpose-built tool to help people that have to carry things for their work.

I know Boston Dynamics has been developing several robotics platforms that could have limitless uses.?ÿ We may even be riding robotic mules before too long.?ÿ But it would be cool if we could just have a robotic tool hauler.?ÿ Look at the payload capacity and range of the larger Segway Scooters.?ÿ The X2 SE has a 12 mile range and max payload of 260 lbs (I'm sure that impacts range, though).?ÿ If I could survey 6 miles in a day I'd be setting records...

Just think if we had a self-balancing platform that could haul over 100 pounds of supplies/tools, providing charging ports, even help pull or push up steep terrain, etc.

I know we all encounter obstacles that would present challenges at times, especially water.?ÿ But I think a tool like this could present tremendous benefit, not only to surveyors but to anyone that uses tools on a project site.?ÿ I'd buy one.

?ÿ

Plumb,

How about a "Segway type" self plumbing rod?

I'll buy a couple of those.

I want a prism pole with a Hilti gun so it will pound nails. Your cart should pound rebar and hubs.

I always wanted to build a pneumatic post driver with a lenker rod and laser sensor added. It would need a separate trigger for "hit it one more time". Have a compressor on a cart with a tray for more hubs. Pull the cart down the centerline and have enough hose to reach each side.

I agree!?ÿ We purchase 50 thousand dollar robotic stations but we still walk around with the same hub bag and hammer but got rid of the kid to swing it.?ÿ Rod should have a screw gun built into it.?ÿ 1/2" screws for marking pipe lines in roads and 4" screws for solid dirt markers.?ÿ I've made my own prototypes and it is doable I just lost the motivation, but I would buy it. I've also thought about the golf bag idea that is stable enough to rest the rod against, but light enough that it could act as a backpack when the going gets tough.?ÿ Bunch of engineering type minds in this business you think guys would be thinking these things up and selling them.?ÿ Have a nice weekend!?ÿ Jp
