To Work?

> Conrad,
> Yes, yes I did work in couple of neighbor hoods that even the local cops suggested if I was going to be there very late into the afternoon with all that expensive equipment and nice shiny SUV, that I be strapped. Now that I work in a rural area I don't feel the need if anyone threatens to shoot me I just walk away and call the cops. In Drexel aka "Little Detroit" they don't threaten, they just shoot.

Hello CHarmon,

Does your pay reflect the expectation that you will be working in life threatening situations?

What sidearm do you carry? (a worldly observation)

>. If you can give us a country or region of the world you are in then we can a just our answers to what you are looking for.

Hello Floyd,

I should have added to the previous post - I wasn't "looking for" anything. I started by asking two things: are people 'carrying' at work, and would you work somewhere you felt you needed a gun, which could translate to: somewhere probably quite dangerous. The questions I asked are straightforward and the answers don't need tailoring to my location. One post did lead me to the question of being afraid which is only interesting in that fears don't always reflect reality.

There places you don't want to be , but have to work in. Do you have any places were the whole population is eating government cheese and all hard working folk are the enemy . We get yelled at , called all kind of racial names etc. ..I was threatened a couple times in 25 years . Having one guy face to face bow up on me , and threaten me with violence . he was coming at me and I turned the prism pole sidewaysb and popped him under the nose in the top lip . This put him down , he got the point , but scared the crap out of me . This was just some random idiot cheese eater screwing with a working man , I did not expect it either just minding my own business taking survey shots. From then on I pay attention were I am and always packing . If I was that day I probably shot that guy he had been screwing with us all day threatening us.

I am a peaceful guy ,have studied martial arts for the last 20 years and have not been in one fight or wanted to , but you get in my personal space or threaten my family your going get the full effect...

G'day Mate

Well-educated children regressing to a primitive state has become a tradition here in the Homeland®.
FWIW, most Yankees aren't gripping their guns waiting for the Zombie Apocalypse, but you won't get any answers reflecting that from the beer leg fringe.

Have a great day!

I carry a pic of my mother in law. Folks run from that, more than if I had a Desert Eagle pointed at them!

Happy Thanksgiving to all!

🙂

My EDC is a Glock 23 (.40 S&W). If I'm working in the southern part of the state in the mountains with the black bears and hogs, I will carry my Smith & Wesson model 19 (.357 mag).

Glock 23 (40S&W)
Kahr K9 (9mm)
Ruger LCP (.380acp)

Usually not at the same time. 😉

All dependent on where I am and what I am doing.

No really JD. Arkansas is a CC state. As in Constitutional Carry state. Open or concealed. It doesn't matter now. 2nd Amendment is all one needs.

To Work?

I would have to say no it didn't but then again I didn't get paid less when I was out standing in the middle of a field with no one around for miles. I didn't think to ask for "hazard" pay because most days there was no hazard but there could have been at any time so I was prepared. It's like what has been said here many times "I don't wear a seat built because I'm intending to get in a wreck". Same with wearing a hard hat or saftey vest, I don't know maybe you have to wear them all the time (I know a few companies that require the vest even if you a half mile of the road) do you get paid at a higher rate if you have to wear those things?
