So why do you like measuring things so much? Positioning objects on the earth and such..

The measurements never add up, so every day is a new adventure. That's my story.

Measuring Things Is Boring...

...finding things to measure is where the fun is.

Ya just gots ta measure it be for you look for more fun.

Finding something that hasn't been found for 50-100 years, that is the mostest fun.

The measuring is not the fun part, that is the work part.
The fun is re-tracing history, working outdoors, the scenic drive from one site to the next, the investigation and problem solving, with a little math thrown in to challenge the brain.

Bingo, Scot & Daryl!

The measuring is just incidental to what we do.

The really fun part is collecting the evidence and analysing it to solve the giant puzzle.

Another fun part, one that I got to dealwith full-bore this week, has nothing to with measuring. I had to figureout the location and disposition of an easement over a commercial parcel of land less than 1 acre in size. I ended up tracing dozens of deeds back in time to figure out where the easement lay. All back to a 190 acre parcel granted in 1859. Now THAT is fun!

heh heh heh

I think "lies" is correct.

Lay is a verb. The easement isn't going anywhere ;-).

[sarcasm]I hope this helps![/sarcasm]

Actually, Dave, it did!

As a result of my research and efforts, I determined that the easement had actually been extinguished through a set of odd documents and turns back in 1998.

that's easy.

you know why women cannot measure?
(hold your hands 6" apart)
because they've always been told that's 12 inches.

i like to measure because i like to know where things are
