1 - Leica 1205 w/CS15
1 - Leica TS15 w/CS15
3 - Leica GS15 units w/CS10 for RTN

We only use robotics. About 75% of our work can be done with just a PC in the field. We have technicians that go out to assist when needed. There is a learning curve as far as field methods go but you learn quickly. One of my guys just did 925ish shots in a day on an old industrial site locating, fences, buildings, elevations, utilities, asphalt, concrete, and elevations.

We use the RTN system on almost every job we can. For most jobs, as long as it is all relative to the site it's good. The RTN can get us around 0.02-0.06 horizontally in most cases and around 0.1 vertically, sometimes better. Every job that is tied in using RTN is labeled as such. We of course use static for larger or more accurate projects. The other nice thing about the Leica RTN stuff is that it works AMAZING under tree cover. Even under full growth we can get sub foot in real time and often around 0.3. This is using the newer firmware with the xRTK mode. We use it a lot for recon work but also for trees, wetlands, and even stone walls or fences in some cases. No post processing.

Tom

GPS-1995-96-got an RTK unit for large boundary work.

Robot-2000 I think, maybe it was 2001.

The robot has changed more than the GPS units. The first robot was a pain.

Wireless BanTams from Hayes. They work really good when I can get the rod based unit to switch on... I think the switch has a short or something. I don't like to get out more than 500' from the instrument... things just start getting balky then.

2001 I hired on with a firm that was using the Trimble 4400 units. We got our Trimble 5603 robot about 5 years later. By that time we were using the Trimble 4700 GPS units. Picked up another 5603 very soon after the first one was purchased. In 2010 I stepped up to the S-6, 2011 the S-8 robot. Started using the R8 rover in 2010 also. Still use an old topcon for some work and even break on the highway chain to pull diagonals.
