Anyone here ever heard of a "Pole Camera"? It is a camera mounted on a pole used for photographing the interior of manholes and confined spaces without entering them.
We are looking for one to photograph manhole interiors to prepare condition/rehabilitation reports.
Thanks in advance...
Most all digital cameras have threads for tripod mount
At the hardware store you can find an all thread that will secure the camera to anything
I have attached mine to a broomstick to film places I did not want to enter
With the timer function you can get still shots or you can set the flash and take a movie of your descent and record the depth and direction by calling out the measurement and the audio will be preserved as a part of the film

We use a Panasonic DMC-FT5. There are apps for Android and iOS that you can download to remotely use the camera via a wifi connection.
We have a mount that clamps onto the survey pole near the bottom so it can be lowered into a manhole.
Here is a photo of our clamp. We have a bracket on it with a metal rule so that in every photo the pipe size can be seen accurately. Clients love being able to see that sort of information. Only works on small pipes though, however they are the vast majority of what we measure.
Only the tip of the pole and the tip of the rule get in the muck but that is easily cleaned.
