A friend of mine is having plotter problems. He just bought a used HP 1055 and can't communicate with it. Possibly a driver issue. He's using Win2000/Autocad2000. Does anyone else have the same setup that might have a suggestion? He says he updated the drivers, but no luck.

Me. "What's the difference?"
T.C. Carroll "It's the difference between right and wrong!"

There is a program called WinLine Drivers (I think) that may solve his problem. I can check my files and get the right name if anyone needs to get back to me. I have it on a disk somewhere, but I am pretty sure it is a copyrighted material. Also, I don't remember off hand all the plotters it supports, but there is quite a list.

Did he go to the HP Drives site. The windows drivers don't always work or aren't included for older plotters. Try checking with HP.

Charles has it correct. Go to www.winline.com and download a driver for the plotter. You can even try it out first before you purchase to make sure it will print.
