How do you all deal with storage of the nasty end of business after using the Pipe Mic II ? I am used to simply shoving that end of the straight measure down rod into the slot in the truck box, out of sight out of mind. Now I am going to have to deal with an "L" shaped contamination situation. I don't know how I am going to "handle" this one. Your suggestions (both helpful and humorous are welcome)?

I am having the same issue and keep looking at an old unused Pelican GPS box that it would fit in. Haven't been able to bring myself to it yet, but, I know it is going to happen

Glad I don't have to deal with a s****y job like that.
How about a small pressurized water tank for hosing it off?

On a recent job that involved 30+ manholes, I carried a 1-gallon garden sprayer with a bleach solution as Stephen suggested. For onesie-twosie dips, I wipe it down with antibacterial wipes that I keep in the truck. In both cases I let it dry in the sun afterward.

30gal trash bag works for many things from holding nasty crap till I can clean it to an emergency poncho.

No gloves, just more wipes.

Well, in a bag of course. I just like the very water resistant seal, but, that is my thing

I wear the nitrle gloves from AutoZone for changing oil when I do inverts, and just put in in the back of the truck (removed from the rod), after spraying it liberally with lysol. I then rinse it off again and respray with lysol before putting it back in the truck. I never thought about a garbage bag. Excellent idea.

Used it for 2 jobs and decided it was better to just use the rod and solve the triangle with a angle indicator than use that filth gathering contraption. Had guys not paying attention to the rod not being plumb and got varying readings. Great idea but implementation is the tough part. It gathers more toilet paper and poop that anything I've ever used.

The Pipe Mic is definitely more susceptible to plumbing errors than is a straight rod. I rubber-band a bullseye bubble to the rod when using it.
