Anybody ever take any photos through the scope of the gun with a phone or camera? I take a couple here and there, and here is tonight's of the moon coming up over ol' coastal Palm Beach County, FL
I have used my phone through binoculars before. Takes some practice and monkeying for sure. Will have to try the gun someday.
Here's another from a while back 2012 maybe? with a co-worker and friend at 3335 feet in the summer heat. Hard to be accurate with the heat waves but they aren't as bad as the photo makes it seem. Esp with ribbon waving in the wind... lol. Both photos taken with the transit in my avatar. Leica TCR307
Taking pics with my 110 Instamatic was easy, focus the scope and put the lens up to the eyepiece and presto, zoom pic.
It has not been as easy with the digital cameras with all the autofocus and other settings of the camera, still ironing out what works best.
Got a great photo of Albert Pujols through my binoculars from the cheap seats back when he was still a Cardinal. Haven't tried it through the gun though. Sounds like a good idea!
Took one a long time ago through the scope of a Gts-3b.
I took awesome photo through a periscope in Hawaii.
It was very impressive with cross-hairs.
I've never had much success withwith TS but you've spurred me to again.
That moon shot is impressive.

I took this with the camera handheld behind the eyepiece of the 30x scope in my GTS-2B. The bird is on a stump 1.2 mile away in the water. I need to figure out a better way of steadying the camera.
The tree is over 500 years old and was thought by some to have historical importance. The experts and I think not so historical but still was an impressive size in its day. It seems NOT to have been involved in the Indian treaty boundary that I've studied although it was within 100 yards thereof, and I've taken a lot of sights to it to estimate its location. It was in poor shape when the reservoir was flooded in 1969 and is the only remaining stump in the area. In the last few years the root system appears to be giving away and it is tilting.

I was on subs in the late 80's/early 90's and we would occasionally get pictures of chicks on the NLON side of the Thames river flashing the Sub Base. I'm sure they were aware of our capabilities, lol. Anyway, the optics, magnification and photographic capabilities of a Los Angeles class periscope were impressive to say the least. We also had an onboard dark room to develop the pictures.

We have a lot of projects that are phased according to the Bald Eagle nesting activity. We are not allowed within a certain distance for a certain part of the year.
I had to laugh out loud when shown this "eagles nest". I commented right away that 1. the nest is too small 2. it is in a dead tree 3. THAT'S AN OSPREY IN THE "EAGLES" NEST!
I was told that I am not a scientist, leave the determinations up to the biologists.
(I worked with biologists on a major eagle nest survey at the airport expansion)
Here is the "eagle" in his nest, no kidding this bird shut down half a project for over half a year.
I took this a few years ago on an antenna alignment job. I was set up about 300' from the tower at a point looking directly along the desired alignment axis. As you can see, the pre-built beam lines up pretty darn well with the design azimuth. (The riggers are are about 175 feet above ground.)

When I shot the moon I unfocused the cross hairs so they would show. iPhone 6, just held it up to the eyepiece.
