I started off this morning staking grade beams and setting new control with robotics, for a new 4 story housing complex overlooking Seneca Lake.
Then I staked 2000ft of fence line with GNSS through the woods of Amish country. Take a close look at the bottom right of the last photo. What do see?
Surveying is the only profession where such a contrast of work environments could exist with the same work day.
Whoooo Pig Soooie

Diverse, for sure. I'll second Nate's Arkysaw comment.
Um, I'll second Nate's DDSM's Whooo Pig Sooooie! too!
Thanks for sharing the pics. I have a walking staff, with a 1/4" thread camera mount, that I can stick in the ground, and set the timer on the camera.
I'll try for a selfie....

Thought it was proper to scald and scrape hogs first.........

How'd Levi feel about having his picture taken?
"...Thence nor'westerly through Caleb Obermeyer's woodlot a distance of 175 paces and two hogsheads to a steel pin...."
you have also diverse rover setup, never seen combination like that, was wondering what data collection software are you running on the toughpad.
Interesting pictures, I though they put on clothing like that only for folk festivals, looks practical though.

Topcon Magnet Field on the ToughPad
Once and a great while we'd run across a dead cow or other critter when we surveyed weapons ranges. Nothing like a bloated carcass on a 95 degree Florida afternoon.

Back around 2007 I contemplated going into business with a surveyor who had worked down here in the DC area and then moved back home to Watkins Glen. Probably should have, nothing like working where the small towns have waterfalls in them 😀
