After many weeks of waiting I found out I passed the Pennsylvania State Specific exam! At the time that I took the test I walked away thinking it was the most difficult exam I had ever taken. I still feel that way today and I am very thankful I passed.
Congratulations, Now What ?
Are you moving East?

What a wonderful and hard earned accomplishment!! :good: :hi5:
If you would like a koozie package for your achievement, please let me know.
What was the exam format???? Not the questions, but the format???
Congratulations!
The format is 35 mutliple choice questions, open book, and two hours to complete. You will need every minute!
Hopefully, I will be taking it in the Spring.
I took it twice-the first time I got a 73 (need 75 to pass). The second time I had materials I didn't have the first time-Boundary Retracement Principals and Procedures for Pennsylvania, and the DEP sewage manual and erosion and sediment control manual. All three of these are critical to have. I got a 90+ the second time with those resources.
That makes me feel better as I pretty much have the sewage manual and the E&S manual (at least the old one) memorized from working with them so much. I imagine I will get some sort of a syllabus when (if) they notify me about taking the exam (my application has been in since June of last year)

HA! Mine too! We will see. It has been interesting, to say the least.
I passed it in 1983 and had the same feeling.:-)
Contratulations!

taken from the PA Society of Land Surveyors.
I remember walking to my car afterwards...hearing a few guys behind me, "Dam, I thought that was supposed to be a test about surveying!"...kind of made me chuckle.
It is a hard test.
Congrats. I plan on trying it this spring. Already have OH & WV but given the close proximity of PA it would benefit me to go ahea and get that license too. Thank goodness my company pays my renewal fees, state society memberships fees & continuing education classes.
