Survey Pro Repetition Shots (auto)

> Aloha, Brian: It works! :good: Thanks to your detailed post. You are right, I had to do a bit of tinkering with the "Manage Smart Target" menu. I was using two 606 360º prism. I had one prism (BS) the RMT ID set to 4. Second one was left unchecked. That didn't work. When I set the second prism ID also to 4 it works fine. I don't know if there are any consequences for setting both RMT ID to 4...

That's where they need to be.

Those look pretty good! 5.5 seconds in 513 feet is 0.014 feet and that's the worst one out of 5! In steep terrain with short backsights and foresights, you will probably see larger residuals. Same with hot days.

Nice set-up! I'm really glad you got it working. The 606's are set to RMT ID#4 and I don't think they can be changed, whereas the RMT LR can. The idea is that if you are operating robotically and are close to line on the backsight, a "search" will find the rover prism and not lock onto the backsight. More trouble than it's worth. It's easier for me to shut down the RMT if I'm close to line.

Does anybody know what a configuration like this might cost? I'm thinking (hoping) around $200? I may be in dire straights with my BanTams and have to rig up something like this.

Thank you much in advance.

Parani's

Thank you very much.

Many of the pics seem cut off, so I was scared about what else might be included that would be costly.

Thank you for the info.

Parani's

They look pretty slick compared to the old external radios, don't they? Keep in mind that power is an issue and something you'll have to work out. If you are using a 12V external battery at your robot, you can wire off of that to run the base Parani, and if you are running a DC with a USB port available, they sell a short cable that will draw power from your USB port to run the DC Parani (See yswami's Pic Above). Also, there are external battery packs that can be used, and apparently an internal battery option (not sure how long the battery will last). Anyway, supplying power and cabling for the units might slightly bump the cost up, but these Parani sure seem like a good deal compared to $2500 radios ...

Aloha, Carl: Here is the list of items and price that I paid for.

2 --Parani-SD1000 Bluetooth Serial Adapter (No power adapter, No Antenna) $172
1 --USB Power Cable $3.00 (to connect to DC USB port)
2 --Dipole Antenna - RP-SMA Right-Hand Thread, 5dBi $16
1 --DC power cable $2 (to connect to power source at the gun. It comes with 12" cable, you do need to splice it to make it longer to meet your need)
1 --DB9 Female to Male Gender $4

If your DC has USB power supply and if you can tap into the 12V power supply at the gun the items listed above is all you need. Total cost $197 plus shipping. This is the minimum requirement to get you going. I also purchase the DB9 cable to put the Parani on the side of the DC so that it is not in my way. It is attached to the DC with velcro. The 5dBi antenna are worth every penny you spent on them.

These are optional if you don't have USB at the DC.
Extended Battery pack for Parani-SD1000 $35
External Power Adaptor $18 (to charge the Extended battery pack)

Aloha

P.S. Jim Frame has a very cool setup. He actually installed the Parani inside his DC!!

Thank you very much for the breakdown. I'm just trying to get up and running again. Troy at geo-tronics has got something in the works for me, but I really do appreciate your information.

Aloha, my DC has a built-in bluetooth too but I couldn't get it communicate with the Parani at the gun. I ended up using two--one at each end. Search on ebay.com, there a few for good price--better price than sena.com
