I am suddenly struggling to get over 200 ft with my Topcon FC5000/GPT-9005 w/ Parani SD1000 attached to the serial port.
If I search for blue tooth devices over 200ft it finds the Parani, but Magnet suddenly does not play nice.?ÿ
Any ideas? I know my Magnet software (amd/or Windows) has been buggy after some recent updates.
I noticed Topcon has some guidance to attach a blue tooth extender to the FC5000. Is this a better way to go?
Thanks,
Steve
A Bluetooth extender has to help. I was using just a single Parani at the instrument and the long range Bluetooth in my tablet wasn't always enough. When I added the second Parani at the usb port of the tablet it improved but not a whole lot until I added the long antenna at the tablet end. Having both pointed upwards is also supposed to help and if seems like it did for me.?ÿ
I'm not using magnet with mine, but I know the first sign of the connection dropping out is failing to shoot even though it's still connected.?ÿ
I was using magnet you until recently when I switched robots. The one bug I had on the most recent update was that it would store the points in the staking menu wrong. I would store as calc #_stk and if I didn't go in perfect order starting with the first calc point and going up it would start naming them the wrong calc point which got very confusing. They brought that update out well over a month ago and have not fixed it yet.?ÿ
