Does anybody know of any upcoming and open OPUS Projects trainings? There have been some states bringing them in and I believe we (Montana) plan to in the fall, but I could use one sooner. The NGS calendar shows the next in Pennsylvania in August.

Thanks

There's one in Elizabeth City, NC next week. I'm signed up for it. I'm not sure if any seats are still available but check out the NC society of land surveyors website.

Talk to your NGS Advisor. If there is local interest they may be able to add one. That is how we got ours here. The state society wasn't interested in sponsoring it because they couldn't charge big bucks for it so a small group got together, found a free room for the training, and our advisor put it on. Small group and lots of hands on time.

Thank you for the responses; that is what I have found. I was hoping some state society or DOT had an open class somewhere. It would be nice to have Curt Smith back as our advisor again.

:good:
Thank you Steve and Arkansas' advisor, Brian Ward.

By the way...Arkansas submitted the most Opus-DB and GPS on Bench Mark solutions for Feb. and Mar. 2015.

Kurt,
I have been in contact with Mike Londe with NGS. He has been quite helpful with Blue Booking a GPS control point vrs OPUS Share. Him and his staff seem quite eager to promote OPUS, so I wouldn't be surprise if they would be more than happy to provide a OPUS training session. You might contact Mike at [email protected]. He is the Wyoming NGS advisor and is filling in somewhat since Curt's retirement.

Thanks Skeeter. Mark Armstrong actually has some classes coming up in Oregon, but it appears I have gotten a seat in North Carolina next week.
