FYI:

We are getting a lot of complaints about OPUS solutions that don't have computed state plane or UTM coordinates.

I don't think it is related to 'User Profiles' (which is a usual suspect.)

Might be an issue on NGS side? Anyone else seeing:

I just now re-ran one of my old files on OPUS and got a normal-looking (Extended) report with UTM and SPC in meters and (at the bottom) feet.?ÿ I always choose Extended.

I was mildly surprised by the choice of CORS, using one a lot further from the point than had been chosen last year. but the result was within millimeters horizontally and vertically of the old one.

I just submitted 2 (ig3s) files collected yesterday, and the (extended) output contained both UTM and SPC as usual.

Maybe Mark has used up his UTM/SPC allowance for the year (already).

I should have put more SPCs in the bank to save for the future. But actually this is 5 calls from customers, in a row, with the same problem. That usually means watch out.

Loyal: Small world. I just helped download those two files onto a newly rebuilt Win10 machine.?ÿ

This might also have something to do with bad apriori positions too (the ECEF XYZ's at the top of the RINEX.)

Bill: I believe that you get the best OPUS solutions by using two nearby points and one more than 150KM distant. I have been told a few times why this works out and it is a bit above my pay grade, but I think it may actually help with elevations. I wonder if the OPUS machine does this on purpose now?

Shucks Mark, I should send you a wire transfer of my entire SPC allowance, I hardly ever use them, and even if I should need one or two, I can calculate all I need in a few seconds.

This is good news indeed. Sometimes when I am adjusting a large network I might submit a huge number of 24-hour observation files (I am embarrassed to admit that a single adjustment might have 90 daily files spread over two years for 100+ sites) and while I don't use the SPC results, I know that having unlimited credits will be a big deal for the few times that they are convenient.?ÿ

While I have your attention, I would emphasize that the 'User Profile' feature causes more issues than it could possibly cure. In fact, I can't think of any issues that it actually helps. I don't know if the profiles are stored at NGS (associated with an email address), or on the local machine or cached in the cloud with Chrome and Edge user profiles. Perhaps this lack of understanding contributes to my problems, but many days I have to resort to using a new email address in an incognito window to enter an HI and have it stick. (I will type in an HI, but the report comes back with 2.0 meters which I assume is my profile HI.) The 'User Profile' stuff is evil.

I've never had the User Profile override something I entered on the web form, except for when I intentionally entered HI=0.0 and somehow wound up with something else.

I find that on Firefox the profile only works for a few days and then everything is blank for me to fill in again.

It is a little strange that it wants to remember and supply as the default an old HI, but won't remember the antenna type, which would tend to be more constant for most users.
