Of drawing a fence around a fleck of dust on your computer monitoring and expecting it to disappear.
After selecting said piece of dust press the delete key repeatedly and harder than normal. That's the only way I get any satisfaction from the process.

It could be worse, you could accidentally select "delete outside of fence" since it is conveniently right next to what you want. At least that way you can accomplish less than nothing ...
At least they have an undo command now.
Related: punching in a phone number on my desktop keyboard and expecting it to show up on my phone.

yeah my finger slipped and I hit Shift-O instead of Shift-I and it deleted everything outside of my little window. Oops. Undo is handy.

Trying to visually align a series of school hall ways that are very similar....without a site map of the scan locations.
If I had to use Cyclone more than a few times a year I'd be in a padded room by now. It is by far the most aggravating software on the planet.
I can never seem to be productive two days in a row. Now I'm getting the shared resource error (no one else is using the resource). The fix is to optimize the database which takes hours.
This is par for the course for Cyclone, works great one day, a pile of ___ the next day.
"Cyclone remove the points."
"I'm afraid I can't do that Dave, there's a 'shared resource error'!"
"Shared resource error? What shared resource? there's no shared resource?"
"This point cloud is too important for me to allow you to jeapordize it!"
etc

I do this with my HP-41 and my keyboard every day...
BTW - what is Cyclone? I Googled it and got this: "Cyclone is a web server framework for Python that implements the Tornado API as a Twisted protocol. " EH?
