Does anyone know of a site for online deed/document access, specifically for Los Angeles County.?ÿ I haven't needed it in years but I used to use CourthouseDirect.com and that's not working now for some reason.

I've been to the local deed rooms 3 or 4 times in my 24 years here in the PDX area, and that is 3-4 times more than just about anybody else around here. I can (almost) always get the deeds I need by calling the customer service department of any of the local title companies. I give them either the Bk/Pg reference if I have it, or the tax lot / civic address of the property to get the current vesting deed. And if I need more, like a chain of title, they will do that for a nominal fee. Cheaper than my time running to the courthouse.?ÿ ?ÿNone of the local counties have deeds online.?ÿ
I was able to do the same a couple of times when I was in OK. Especially in the OKC & Tulsa areas. But the bosses expected that I would go to the deed rooms and I didn't mind getting out of the office and seeing some remote parts of the state.?ÿ There were research services as well, but I didn't care for the quality of the photography we were getting, and the method of delivery was a random dump of undifferentiated photographs. But it could have worked with just a little more thought.?ÿ ?ÿ?ÿ
So my advise is to call the title company office nearest the site and see if they can help.?ÿ ?ÿ
The County does have a real estate records link to an external site (LexisNexis) but my request wasn't processed for some reason, so I'm hoping for an alternative similar to CourthouseDirect that used to work fine.

CourthouseDirect quit working with Firefox some months ago, but it does work with Chrome, at least on my desktop system.?ÿ However, before I figured out that it was a browser problem, I needed to find another solution, and I found NetrOnline.?ÿ Pricing is about the same as CourthouseDirect, but the web interface is much more user-friendly.?ÿ I still use CourthouseDirect do to searches, but if I know the map or document identifier I use NetrOnline.

datatree.com is not bad for deeds, usually their map scans are garbage myfirstam.com is not bad as well, for the region you are searching.?ÿ
If you use AutoCAD, then with the ArcGIS for AutoCAD extension you can access the REST web map services contained in Joe Effelt's excellent catalog of sources.

In my county it's only the older scans (prior to 2000 or so) that are of poor quality.?ÿ The more recent stuff is legible.
While I may be mistaken, I get the impression that all of the commercial online map sources are using First American's map database, so I long ago quit trying to get a better scan from a different vendor.
I did not know about that ArcGIS for AutoCAD extension. Thanks for that.
