I've just been asked for a proposal to survey a site for renovation. I laid out the building and parking lot in 1996.?ÿ
Welcome to the "back side" of the wheel.
In 1974 I was on a staking crew on a county road paving project turning a dirt road into all weather asphalt surface.?ÿ In 1989 I worked for a CE firm and we did the survey/ plans to make it into a 4 lane arterial route.?ÿ ?ÿIn 1996 I was with ODOT and facilitated that route to on an F.A.U.S. (Federal Aid Urban Secondary) route upgrade.?ÿ ?ÿIn about 2005 or so US 77 was rerouted and that stretch of road because part of the state/federal highway system.
All in the blink of an eye...

If you are old you have to be crotchety and a curmudgeon.
Are you??ÿ
According to my kids (the oldest of whom turns 40 this week) I've been a card-carrying curmudgeon for quite a while now. Crotchety? Not so much.
The first three condominium plats that I prepared, all different sites, have been torn down and redeveloped.?ÿ It seems wherever I go these days, I drive by a site that I've surveyed and don't recognize it for what it was back in the day.?ÿ Welcome to the club.?ÿ
1991 Wally World has been a combination of other commercial businesses for at least 10 years now (maybe 15) as they moved over about a quarter mile to their fourth site/building since first arriving in town.
Meanwhile 1990 Wally World is still functioning on the same site but doubled in size in about 2000 without my help.
I got my license when I was 23. I'm already as crotchety and a curmudgeonly as the 60+ age guys I know.

Pace yourself, man.?ÿ It's a long, long run......................if you're lucky.
