When we were hired by you to perform an elevation survey, for the placement of a new mobile home I told you how things would go, in detail.
While at the site, I set a nail in a pole, and explained that everything must be placed above that nail.
I explained that two certificates would be issued, the first being for the permit to move a mobile home into a flood zone, and the second to be issued after said mobile homes placement on the site, so that the power permit could be issued.
I also explained that it would be in your best interest to give me as much advance notice as possible, about the date the mobile home would be set, so that I could schedule my return trip as soon as possible.
Calling me Thursday, mid morning, and telling me the trailer would be moved that afternoon was not all that much advance notice.
When you called me Thursday I told you that I would not be able to get there Thursday or Friday, but that I would pass by over the weekend, and have a certificate ready for Monday morning.
Calling my cell phone 15 times on Saturday and four times on Sunday did not change this statement, and leaving four messages on my cell phone did nothing but annoy me, so much so that I am considering delaying the issuing of the certificate.
I would get payment at delivery.
You can bring a Layman to water, but you can't make him think.
Yeah, while it felt good to write that, I probably wouldn't send it. I would, however, institute what I call the aH0le tax. The aH0le tax is very flexible. Sometimes it's a delay in time, or others is an increase in fee. Sometimes, it's providing the EXACT service the client wants, all the while knowing it won't work, and then charging them for what they truly need, after the fact and while you already collected the data and it cost you nothing extra to do.
I use it semi-regularly and it looks as though it would be apropos in your situation. 🙂
Already been paid. I require full payment at the issuing of the first certificate. "I hand you yours, you hand me mine".
Yeah, I am not sending it, I just wanted to write it.
Can we get an "AMEN" from the choir?
AMEN!

I have the exact same tax! Rates vary based on how my bank account looks and how bad they get on my nerves.

After the first two messages, they would get a whole lot of "I heard you the first two times... every time you call it delays me working on it."
I'm done with them, gave her the second certificate just a little while ago, changing the ringtone on her number to no ring.
PITA fee. Folder gets a big black star and PITA clearly marked. My crews appreciate it for the heads up.
PITA = pain in the a**
snoop
Knowing you, that doesn't surprise me at all. 🙂
I have had PITA rates for well over 30 years. Subject to being applied at any time.:-P
