Should I include this note?

".....and that is why Lawyers, and other non-spatially oriented folks, should not write their own descriptions...."?

🙂

It's tempting!

"Should I include this note?"

I would, right after, or included with the note that states “Not responsible or liable for anything shown hereon”. 😉

In Ohio the following statement would be very appropriate.

>Please be aware that Ohio State Board of Registration for Professional Engineers and Surveyors Opinion 2009-05-27 indicates it may be a violation of Ohio law for persons not licensed as professional surveyors to prepare metes and bounds legal descriptions.

The opinion cited is available online at Board Opinion | 2009-05-27.

EDIT: A quick web search indicates that the person to whom the opinion is addressed is an Ohio Attorney.

I think that note should be on Field notes. As a non licensed Surveyor (Party Chief) I have read many Field Notes prepared by Lawyers who didn't seem to be able to tell what town, county or sometimes what State they where in.

Thanks guys that gave me a good laugh.:-D 😀 😉 🙂 :good: :good:

In my state only Surveyors can write legals. Lawyers still right them, and they go through. My feeling is lawyers are evil, and get their way.
