I went up to Warrenton, Ga. for a SAMSOG meeting Saturday and toured the Georgia Museum of Surveying and Mapping. Here's a few pictures of some of the things on display. I'm sure they'll bring back some memories for some of you guys.

Enjoy.

I actually find it kind of sad that many of the tools I once used are now in a museum.........:-(

Of course, I wouldn't want to go BACK........

I was thinking the exact same thing as I was scrolling through the pics. The only difference... I think I would like to go back. I'm probably just being nostalgic about being young, though.

Going Back?
I like some of the technology we have today. However, I'd like to go back to the days when I made more money for myself instead of for Trimble and Autocad, etc. The government takes more too.

I turned my first angle with a T-16 in '79 at Ft. Sill. Still have a soft spot in my heart for those little guys.

Never even saw a 16 until 1987. My first was a Berger & Sons 20" Transit. Then a K&E Paragon 30" with an optical plummet.
