I had a mentor who had a set of Kroll books, and any time a plat was badly done and too much trouble, he would take his red pencil and outline it in the Kroll book pages with a skull and crossbones in the center. If a prospective job fell in such a place on the map, the people who answered the phone or did estimates were instructed to say "Thanks we're not interested!"
The job I took this week seems to be one of those jobs, a lot in one of three large plats hand drawn in 1972. None of the curves fit, most of them are non-tangent, and they didn't give anything but arc length, radius, and delta. I can see why the entire quarter-quarter is built out in small lots but there are only 4 surveys in 50 years.
I always had a mental list of those types of places. I just adjusted the price accordingly.?ÿ
