WOW! Isn't that handy? Those people could screw up a junkyard. I feel so much safer knowing they're a branch of HS.
So we glue/tape our photos on? Let's all just say no and refuse to use it...

Here's the blurb from above the form on their site: This document is referenced the NFIP Flood Insurance Manual (Special Certifications Section). It is not currently fillable, so it must be printed and completed, then submitted. A fillable form is being created and will be posted as soon as possible. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause.
I guess they took so long that the bit of extra time to make it fillable right now would've just been too much.

I won't mess with them anymore. And their unwieldy pdfs is at least one of the reasons.
Anyone with Adobe Acrobat Pro can turn the form into a fillable form with a few mouse clicks, but it takes a bit longer to tweak it so that it is truly useful. When I have time I'll work up a version with the option to insert photos, etc.
Hmm, I thought they were going to address the issue of the stamp being on a different page than the elevations. I don't like the idea of certifying something on a different page that could be substituted

"When I have time..."
You've already paid dearly for Big Brother to do this - why would you want to spend your own time on it? Just say no!

I found one last week that was like the previous word document but you can't save it. Our IT guy made it so I have in my private file but again, it can only be filled out and printed. Sometimes I do 2-3 per structure so it's nice to save it in the computer file so I don't need to fully fill it out each time. He said he will work with me to see if it can be done. I tried to post the no savable one here but it said the file was too large to post.

I wonder if I can emboss the front page as well and then write by my signature that the signature and certificate is not valid unless the front page has my embossed seal on it

Did you submit an invoice for the last fillable fema form that you prepared for us? I remembered you every time I used it.

yet another fine example of the monetary value provided by this forum. Thank you Stephen.
attached here is a version I created (I used adobe live cycle and acrobat pro to do this)
its fillable and works but could be better with some fine tuning
It's now editable in acrobat pro and fillable in acrobat reader (I think I only have pro)

Thanks for this. I'd like to figure out a way to insert photo's right into the document. Any ideas?
After reading all this I am so fed up with my tax dollars supporting these Government idiots who baisically do 2 hours of work a day. If the Government were to operate like a for profit corporation you can bet your ass fillable forms would be in circulation now. I have heard, on numerous ocasions, county (Government) employees stating, "I've got it made, I can do what I want most of the time". Oh, I am aware of the dilligent Government employees however, they are outnumbered 80 to 1.
Blood pressure rising, rant over!

using acrobat pro you can insert pics into the form I posted.
I dont know about other software
Someone who wanted to remain anonymous provided me with a form already setup. I'm in the process to tweeking it with image boxes for the seal and the building photographs that should allow every one to click a box and select a photo for each window that I create. Should have results shortly.
Speaking of the bizarre wastes that are encouraged in certain government practices, a fellow who works for the highway department told us how he was directed to keep a certain piece of construction equipment running for hours at a time even though it was doing nothing. Apparently, it had to show a certain number of hours of use each month or it would be taken away from them for lack of need. Some brilliant bean counter had assigned a usage criteria TO SAVE THEM MONEY.
Okay Gentleman, give this a try. Fillable Elevation Certificate
I was able to use Adobe Live cycle to add image fields for the seal and three photos on each of the photo pages. This should work with both Adobe Acrobat and Adobe Reader. For the photos, just click on the page where the photo should go and a dialog box will open and allow to insert your images. The seal is sized for 2" square (TN Requirement). The photos are set to scale to fit the window while maintaining their aspect ratio.
Let me know of any issues you find.
