I've made mention of it on my Facebook page for people who "like" my biz page, but this year it seems as though the professional publications aren't touting it as much either.
If we can't celebrate ourselves in a week set aside for us, what is to become of us. It's sort of the worst disrespect of all, when we can't celebrate and respect ourselves and our history. 🙁

The sound of crickets is deafening.........and very telling!
I've been talking it up here in Maryland for the past few months, only some of the younger guys were interested in GPS on Bench Marks.
Crickets.....
I went out Sunday morning and Monday night and got decently clean observations on 2 second order marks. I will probably observe a few more.
I am observing on DK0889 right now. I know that there 10 GPS receivers running on benchmarks in this part of the state today.
no crickets, JB. We hear you, and you are doing a good thing whether it is solo or group effort. Push forward every day.
We are observing on the following Marks this week.
DK0881
DK0889
DK0895
EH1302
DK1735

Steve,
I observed on DK2858 on the 15th and will observe DK2859 on the 21st. I also celebrated Surveyor's Week by attending a 2 day ArcGIS class at our local university.
DDSM
I will be observing on DK2870 starting about noon on the 21st.
Glad to see a fair amount of comments! I hope all of you have had a lot of interaction with the public and tactfully told them that, no, we are not making a movie!
I spent about 12 hours on my point and saw one farmer on a tractor probably the same farmer in his pick up and a large snapping turtle.
