My foray into my desk drawer also produced these:

Marked 2 on Southwest, US on Southeast

Marked 2 in Northeast, MM on Northwest (poor photo).

This is United States Mineral Monument No.2, Tintic Mining District, Utah. It was set in the early 1870s, and remonumented (with more than a little pomp and circumstance) sometime in the 1890s (I don't remember the exact dates, it's been a while since I worked in the area). I took the pictures sometime in the late 1980s.

It looks like a mineral salt block for a Blessed Bovine.
