To be honest I don't know.
Lyme disease is named after Old Lyme, CT. I guess that's were it 'started' from.
Other than the deer tick being found here, I don't know why its so concentrated here.

I've had lyme disease for about a month one time. Not fun. Thought I was going to die. I know a guy who has had it 3 times and now thinks he is imune to it.

I took the first two shots of the immunization, then they took it off the market before I could get the final shot.

Monument - Be careful, once you got it, you got it forever. I have it and the doctors don't want you to know, but that's how it is. Kind of a remission thing.
Trouble is as you get older its harder to tell if its you getting older or the bug. Get the test every year, that stuff will kill you.

I have had it twice, once about 25 years ago, then again 20 years later. It does make you feel like you are dying. If it is not completely cured, or especially if you have it for a while before it is treated, it can come back (darn thing rests in your body then comes back from time to time).

Oh, and two of my dogs have had it, messed them up pretty good.

Same with me, I received the first two shots and then they pulled it from the market.
I was told that it was pulled as a result of threats of lawsuits. If so one more thing to thank the legal profession for.

Answer me this-- Why can you still get Lyme immunizations for your horse but not for yourself?

C.Tompkins

The risk in Georgia may be low BUT you can still get it. A friend from high died from Lyme Disease. I HATE ticks (but they love me).
