Is anybody out there using a loud alarm for their base? There is a plethora of alarms out there... but I want one that is really good.
Rugged box, cannot be turned off easily. Sensitive, goes off when moved. very loud, so it attracts attention. And, long battery life, so it sounds for a long time.
I'm thinking of a bicycle alarm, or a Motorcycle Alarm, or some sort of system, that will in combination with a tied down tripod, and GPS will make alot of noise, non stop.

Here's ONE of many. Be careful, a lot of cheap ones are light sensitive and can be fooled. Get a motion sensitive alarm.

Even I could hear 110 decibels at that pitch..

Mr Cash, have you ever used such a device? I'm already working on a device to tie it down. Grab and dash is not gonna work.

Fill a box with https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bald-faced_hornet&apos ;">Bald faced hornets

and rig it so the box pops open when anyone messes with the base!

Seems there was one advertised for guarding your instrument a few years back maybe Guard Dog or something similar?

Nate, my boy, you have a house full of human alarm systems. Let them earn their keep. Equipment theft is minor compared to kidnapping a child chained to said equipment.

I'm thinking of one of those older style auto alarms. But, I'd have to get a welded box made for it. So far, that looks like the best for me.

How about a sign that says "Danger Radiation do not get closer than 25 feet"

I like the idea, but inevitably you would forget to "shut the alarm off" before moving your set-up. Based on my limited experience with bald face hornets, you would regret your choice of alarms.

That may be more syllables than a meth addict can process.

Get one of those lifelike rubber hands they use in the movies. Put it in a pool of red paint next to the base...

You could always do something like a Tile?ÿ https://www.thetileapp.com/en-us/ attached to the tripod, receiver, box, somewhere else?, and set it up so if it moves outside a certain radius it notifies you on your phone, and then gives you the benefit of being able to track where its going.
