Hello All,
?ÿ
Just wondering if anyone has any documentation for the process off reducing a control network within liscad that were observed through Measure Sets in Captivate. I have 7 Stations Observed from four different setups to be used for Bridge Control.
?ÿ
Any help advice would be appreciated I allready have Liscad and don't want to fork out $$ for Starnet if I can get by with Liscad Adjustment.
?ÿ
Thanks
Brendan

Ok sorry I found the tutorial, does seem easy except i cannot export from CS20 captivate to FLD format
?ÿ
Does anyone know where i can get the format file from?
?ÿ
Thanks

Liscad, I think, is mostly an Australian thing - is it not??ÿ We do have a few friends from DU here, but I'm afraid the pool of potential LisCAD users is deeper than it is broad.
Have you contacted LisCAD themselves about data converters??ÿ ?ÿ
Hi Brendan and Norman,
Norman, thank you for your response.
I would like to address the questions as follows:
While it is true that LISCAD is developed in Australia and is used extensively throughout Australia it is used in over 100 countries around the world and is used by thousands of surveyors.
It is distributed mainly through the Leica Geosystems network throughout the world but we provide support to anyone via our [email protected] email address.
Now, with regard to your question on reading a Captivate file into LISCAD.
There are two ways that this can be achieved and in both cases you do not need any format files.... LISCAD reads the Leica DBX files directly for both methods detailed below.
There is a very good video that has been put together by Leica Geosystems tha shows how to process data files from Captivate in LISCAD.
The link is below
If you have any questions I would welcome you to send through an email directly to LISTECH at [email protected].

The "FLD" file (Field File) is created within LisCAD after importing the raw data from the data collector. I am not certain, BUT believe you would select DBX as the Leica import type, LisCAD versions later than 11.3 allegedly support the Captivate collector. I am running an ancient Leica instrument and use LisCAD very infrequently, BUT I do know the FLD is a LisCAD created intermediate file from the raw data that then gets reduced to coordinates within LisCAD.
At least one other user who frequents this forum knows much more than me and I suspect he will be along shortly to correct any errors I made 🙂

Hi Shelby,
Thanks for your post.
To clarify.
Prior to the release of LISCAD V12.1 LISCAD had three options for importing directly from the Leica instruments that supported DBX files.
These are:
Leica System 1200
Leica Viva
Leica Nova
All three can be used to download data from any of the Leica instruments?ÿ that support DBX files.
With the release of LISCAD V12.2 we rationalised the instruments to be only the Leica DBX for both Field Transfer and Data Conversions.
Older versions of LISCAD that support the Leica System 1200 will read the DBX from Captivate.?ÿ However, there may be duplication of line work.
Support for Captivate was officially included in LISCAD V11.3.?ÿ Please see the video to see how to download via Field Transfer and Data Conversions and get back to the LISTECH support team if you have any questions at [email protected]
