Could it be that you have an axe to grind with this person? I would not have thrown that accusation out on a public forum.

So you know the person was never employed anywhere else? You know the person did not work for the company, possibly as an unpaid intern, for a few summers before taking full time employment with the company?

Heck, a full year is usually given when the candidate is laid off for 3-4 months in the winter.

Your concern is tenuous at best. If you have a valid complaint about the persons professional work, then file it with the proper authorities.

> While going thru some old records for the company I currently work for, I discovered that a past licensed surveyor and past surveyor intern of the company may have lied to the State Board to get the SIT approved to sit for the PLS exam. The SIT is now an LS.
>
> The discrepancy comes from dates of employment and is in contradiction to the 10 year internship my state used to allow as a path to licensure. My discovery shows he was 7 months short of having 10 yrs experience when he sat for the exam. The only way he could have been accepted was for the first LS to ‘fudge’ the amount of experience the SIT had while working under his direct supervision. It’s close to 10 years now since this would have taken place.

Let it go.

In times of strife . . .

I have known some rather large companies reduced to the principles of the business.

I also am aware that sometimes the principles of the business would sometimes have someone help them . . . under the table.

This "under the table", time is just as valid as "normal", employment, even though the IRS might feel different about it.

What I'm saying is don't make a fool of yourself(over this issue), and more certainly don't make a fool of yourself without ALL THE FACTS.....

This makes me wonder why it is that you were checking these kinds of records from 10 years ago in the first place?

This just doesn't smell good......

If I were you, I'd butt out.

Experience forms are submitted for verification.....apparently, the BOR was satisifed at the time.

Unless this person you refer to is a raging incompetant, why look for trouble?

I agree with you and John and had the same thoughts.
One doesn't have access to his LS application that was submitted for final review. Was there an oral interview etc. or prior work history not known.

If this person is some sort of renegade who is engangering or frauding the public, then maybe you should delve deeper into the issue..
If he has been in practice, there should be a history of compaints etc.

This all sounds like some lame bs.
