Which instrument would you recommend? We are not offering scanning services now but debating if spend 12-14k more on used ms60 and start marketing this type of service or get brand new TS16?. Opinions?

What works are you doing normally. I have both the MS50 and the TS16. The MS50 and its box is bigger than TS16s and if you are going to walk into the woods with it I would go for the TS16. However the MS50 spins quicker and also can do limited scanning. If you want to do full on scanning, I suggest you getting a proper scanner. its faster and data is cleaner.?ÿ

I am using the P version as i do not take photos or see the need for a camera in the unit.?ÿ

@sireath

Thanks for response. I agree ...it takes 8min to take a photo and 2 minimum from two setups plus the cost of Infinity.  Ms60's scanning capabilities are significantly better and data is cleaner I was told...

I got my MS60 about a year ago - got it stolen in Sept and replaced it - I agree if you want to offer scanning, get something like a P20, I just did for that work

I like the MS60 for doing topo as it adds great detail for the dtm and keeps me out of busy streets

I used it for gathering data in environmental cleanup pits, keeps me out of the muck - also did a tunnel and it worked well in the dark

It is a good tool, so if you have it - you will scan some and can use the data in autocad pretty easily?ÿ

I don't take photos as I find the time is better spend getting points - there are some Lidar tools out there that help clean and sort out the data

I have gotten used to the CS20 as I had a Survce Allegro before with a 1203, but it did take some time

The case has straps to make it a backpack and it is pretty easy to carry it that way for off road work
