I had an opportunity to purchase a used TS15 a couple years ago (from a non-Leica dealer), but coming from a Nomad using Carlson SurvCE and TDS, I find the Viva software and controller cumbersome; I really like the gun though. I'm completely new to Leica, and I thought that using this instrument with Carlson would be possible. From what I understand, an additional license may be needed, and even then, SurvCE can only be used on the CS15 with the TS15? Does anyone have any experience with the combination, and if it is even still possible to purchase the extended license?
Certainly possible to run carlson with your ts15.
You will need to purchase (781351) Viva Ts GeoCom Robotics licence.
This allows third party apps to access the robotics.
Id also recommend buying the RH16 long range bluetooth handle.
With this you will be able to use to any bluetooth controller or tablet that you have Carlson installed on.
Personally i use the newer FZ-G1 or G2 tablets
@kilos Perfect. The instrument already has the RH16 handle. In thinking that I couldn't use another controller, I was going off the Carlson website for supported hardware, which says "with CS15" and my version of SurvCE (6) only goes up to TS13.
