I've used my Leica tcr 1105 for a number of years now and fell like I've pretty good handle on its use and abilities.
Yesterday, while attempting to stake some lines I did my usual "translate coordinates" command, and then "Rotate Coordinates." Translate went fine, traverse and record for the chosen point matched fine, but when I rotate the angle changes but NOT to the "new" bearing. Each time I did it the bearing would change, but not to the "new" bearing....
One other odd thing yesterday is that when I shoot I am not prompted for a rod height AFTER the shot. I verified that I did have that toggle checked, and it does prompt for the description (another toggle that I have turned on).
I'm not sure if there is an angle locked in the gun somewhere that I can't find or what the issue might be. I was unable to determine if the angular difference was a constant change or variable. That will be my next investigation.

It sounds like it could be a Data Collector issue also. Have you "hardbooted" everything already? I would save everything you have first and then hard boot the DC first. See if that does the trick. If not, then I would fall back to the Robot. But typically if I have issues with Robots it's 9 times out of 10 the DC.

If I knew how to re-set the DC I would re-set it... With this instrument the DC is onboard.

The Leica instrument does not have a reset. Each time the instrument is turned on the system loads the operating system and programs.
I am wondering if you are using TDS on-board or the Leica applications. I would think you are probably using the TDS on-board because you mentioned that you have it set to prompt for rod height after the measurement.
The only thing I can think of is to uninstall the TDS program and then reinstall it. I cannot remember if you need to renter the license key for TDS on-board if you uninstall it or not. Allot of people have been running the TDS on-baord for years and then when they need to enter the license key again they cannot find the documentation.
Let me know if you are running the TDS on-board and I can post a step by step on the uninstall and install. I also have the latest version of the TDS On-Board if you need the files again.
1. Let me know if this is an 1100 Plus series - I have the TDS on-board version 4.40
2. Make sure you habve your license key
3. The version of the TDS on-board has a standard version and a pro version - I have them both
It may be that the software just needs a fresh install.

Thanks for the response. You're right, I am running TDS on a 1105. I have a n appointment and may take it to the shop next week. It appears to be working correctly now though. I may have inadvertently fixed something the other day when I was running through ALL the options onboard.

Anyone know how to extract the KEYS from the unit before doing so? Obviously since Leica won't help, any other way?
