Hi,

My company recently purchased a Leica Sprinter 150M unit and I've been trying to download the data but have run into issues with the export. Installation and connection of the instrument to the computer is good, but when it comes time to export the data the Report window gets to "Exporting data to excel" and then pinwheels/doesn't respond when I click anything. I've installed it on 2 laptops, one running Windows 8 and the other Windows 10, both experiencing the same issue. So far the max. I've managed to wait without touching anything is 20 minutes. Do I need to be waiting longer or is there some other issue?

Thanks,
Alyssa

Is it a hard wire connection? Maybe you will need a null modem. At least that's the issue I ran into; trying to download Leica data.

good Luck!

Hello Alyssa, it is at this point that excel should open and display the data pretty much straight away. Have you tried the 'ascii data listing' which is the third export button? if that works then it could be an issue with the sprinter software not being able to open excel for some reason. like permissions, or it's installed in a location it can't find, or your virus software is blocking it, or it doesn't exist. it'll probably be something annoying like this.

if the ascii data listing works then you can get the data out of the ascii file and drop it into excel and manipulate it afterwards.

I should've mentioned I'm using the USB cable to connect to my laptops. I noticed a little while after trying to get the data to export that the program is creating excel files but only with the header and no other data. I tried to export to an ascii data report, but it only creates a file and then stalls on the uploading of the data as well.

Ok if it's making blank excel files then my last remaining guess is that maybe you aren't actually recording data. If the little floppy disk symbol is showing in the status area to indicate that the data is being saved, and you are using a levelling routine like BF or BIF then you are doing what we're doing and I can't help you any more. Good luck.

Thanks. I've double checked and the data is being saved. I'm going to try and get a coworker to install it on their computer and take myself out of the equation, see if I'm the problem.

Hi,
I had a same problem.

Run Data Loader as administrator. (I suggest you go to C:Program Files (x86)Leica GeosystemsSprinter_DataLoader and then right klick Data Loader> Run as administrator.)
Now works fine for me.

Best Regards
