We recently upgraded to a CS20 collector running captivate for our GNSS. Works great. Now our two very outdated topcon total stations are deciding they have had enough and we are looking at getting a total station or robot within a reasonable price range. I'm just having a hard time finding information on what would make a gun compatible with the CS20? We are trying to stay in a decent price range?ÿ so looking at older models of guns but just stuck on which ones would work with our CS20 collector.
The current release of Captivate is v7.03 (at least as of last week).?ÿ You should be able to run any Leica TS running Viva/Smartworks v9.x.?ÿ I use mine with my mainline instrument, a MS50, as well as a backup TCRP1201 with no problems.?ÿ I don't know much about other brands but there is a list of them in Captivates TS connection wizard.

Look at the settings page in captivate and see what ts or robots are listed there.
I don't have a TS connection wizard under my settings/connections... Bear with me just started using the cs20 a few months ago and only have it hooked up for a GS..
Had it seet on GS only.. Found the connection wizard... Only a few TS even under leica are listed. It doesn't even have the TCRP's in the list.
While there is no reference in the manual, or online guidance, it IS possible to connect via cable to older Leica total stations.?ÿ
I successfully connected to a Leica TCR703, and everything worked as expected including changing from prism to reflectorless Uncertain if you could get it to work with non-Leica products or if you could even get the correct cable for such a connection.?ÿ
From memory, I just selected the oldest type of Leica TS listed, and modified the parity and baud rate to match the total station.
