I just saw this through Facebook. If the info is inaccurate, please forgive me.

"We just learned that Larry Phipps is in Wake hospital, in Raleigh and will have surgery for a tumor in the brain tomorrow (Monday) for this problem. Your prayers are requested for Larry and his family. As I was told that this problem started on Friday, with some problems with making decisions. So keep him in your prayers. MANY THANKS, IF AND WHEN I HEAR FURTHER WILL ADD TO THIS SITE OR YOU CAN CONTACT ME." <---- that was on facebook, not me stating that.

Hopefully, he'll get this knocked and back being Larry soon.

My best juju and karma to you, Larry. GET BETTER!!

Carl

Carl,

Thanks for letting us know. This would explain why he has been hard to get in touch with.

Thoughts and prayers going his way for sure.

Oh no!!! I've been wondering why we haven't seen him around in a while.

It has been my honor to call him a very good friend since we first met over 10 years ago when I was doing a little contract program for him before I got into the surveying work for real.

I know Larry's list of friend is vast so he isn't going to be short on prayers and well-wishes.
Count me in with that distinguished list!
Be well my friend!
E.

I haven't posted very often on this website, but I read it daily. I admire Larry for not only his knowledge, but also for his professional way of responding to questions on this board. I don't think I have ever seen him belittle another fellow professional, regardless of how trivial the question posted. I think many of us could learn a lot from him not only professionally, but personally as well.

With that being said, I wonder if those of you who also read the message board would be willing to chip in and buy some meals for he and his family during this time while he's in the hospital and recovery? I'm sure his family could use a simple gesture of kindness along with our prayers and well wishes. I'd be glad to chip in and help.
