The fence was very poor, now he expects the County to build him a better fence?
Poor fence or not, the county??s steam roller started a fire and burnt it up along with scorching 6 rods of wheat, so ....
Is he writing on behalf of someone else?
it says damage to E. H????
I believe so- Yenny acting as an agent either for the commissioners or on behalf of E H??ge . I never saw any other correspondence regarding this particular matter.
"The Home of the McIntosh Red Apple"??ÿ Very cool, that's one of our favorites for eating out of hand!
Back in the day, I did a lot of area surveys for the County where dry land wheat farmers claimed herbicide overspray crop damage from roadside weed abatement activities.?ÿ There was a lot of complaining because any damaged wheat inside the R/W line was not compensated for.?ÿ Typically the complainers would submit a seat of the pants acreage estimate which ignored the R/W line and when the surveyed acreage was 1/2 to 1/4 of their estimate they'd go ballistic.
OTOH there were farmers who'd never submitted a claim.?ÿ I learned their attitude was, all up?ÿ they were probably farming 20 acres or so inside the R/W line (5,000 acre farms typical) so an acre total of overspray damage here and there was inconsequential.?ÿ They also liked the idea that the that the County was providing free weed abatement services on their crop borders, so much so that they'd call up the County to complain the weeds were gettin' kinda high on Smith road or wherever.
TxDot spraying herbicide by the pavement put an end to Ladybird Johnson's wildflower campaign.
For some reason around here, you can't let a vehicle or pull along sit by the road for any amount of time because someone will set it on fire.
