I saw in youtube product demo that Juniper Mesa Notepad screen is highly readable in broad daylight. As it is very important in the field, I would presume that Juniper Mesa Notepad screen readability is not a problem.
Do you have any experience using the Juniper Mesa Notepad in broad daylight? Is it really not problem exposing the data colletor under direct sunlight?
Thank you.
Typically, most all TFT displays on HH DC's, Tablets are UN-readable outside in normal day light working conditions. Opt for VGA color display on HH DC's, Ruggedized tablets for outside surveying, construction and GIS mapping. Everybody thinks color screens are the best, but I'll take a grey scale monochrome display any day of the week. If you have a color screen on your HH DC, or tablet, and you're wearing polarized sunglasses, leave the sunglasses in the truck, they'll fall off your head and you'll loose another pair of $100 sunglasses.

I don't have any problems reading the screen. The mesa will mess you up if you start using one. It's hard to read the other data collectors "little" screens now.
Juniper Systems just told me that a new data collector is set to be commercially available two months from now. It is a new rugged handheld product with much better display. According to them, the display is extremely readable in broad daylight.
I had problems with the screen readability in direct sunlight with my Getac rugged Data Collector until i removed the little tft screen protector.
Be aware that screen protectors reflect the sunlight and it is very difficult to read the screen.
