Every time I'm about to pull the trigger and buy a vacation/retirement house on Oak Island I look at the storm aftermath pictures and decide that I don't want to put up with that.

Why would you want to live amongst all those treasure hunters?

I saw enough sunrises, prefer watching the sun set these days.

That's the beauty of barrier islands...sunrise over the ocean, sunset over the sound

I don't HAVE to get up before dawn anymore, but it's still my favorite time of day. Cool, still and a the air just smells better.

We arranged to have the sun set over the ocean out here, it is a vested right.

Nice pic. If you are there about 3 or 4 weeks from now you should be able to get some pics of Black Tip shark's chasing schools of bait fish. Most of the sharks are currently migrating (an annual occurance) along the east coast of Florida headed your way. 😎

Nice fish. I, for whatever reason, cannot cook, prepare, grill or whatever a spotted sea trout. Prefer snapper, grouper and of course, smoked mullet. 😉
30+yrs ago my office was about 50ft from a 250ac lake stocked with Florida Bass, Crappie, Red Eared Bream and Goggle Eye and I fished it most every day after 5pm till dark. Those were the days........
Now the lake is 2mi away and my boat needs a new coat of paint to pass the mussel inspection.
